Still debating if it would be wise to  drive over from SW Wales in the 411 or if this is too much mileage for the old girl to do in one journey. There and back. Also can I pay at the gate on arrival?

Are road miles really that bad for an old mog? I can see how they would be pretty painful for the driver but the vehicle should be alright. I forgot to take my ear defenders on my little road trip today and now I've got a constant hissing going on in the background! Hopefully it will go away soon.

If I had time I would have driven my 411 to gaganau I like driving my 411 as much as the 406s you just need to keep the speed realistic I've done 100 miles in one day no problem just don't worry about peaple who cannot overtake something doing 30 miles per hour !
There's no problem to turn up on the day and pay, just better to know numbers prior to the event after all this is a non profit thing.
Been going through the doka today needs a bit more work really, but gotta go through the black addition sometime this week, good to go through things though.
All being well I think we will be there around 4 pm gonna be doing about 45 all the way,

Just read your post Bart, funny enough your 404 is the only Mog that can suffer from high speed fatigue keep an eye on hub temps and gearbox temp basically you have a 411 gearbox with twice the revs also your hubs are early tech so the odd high speed run would be fine but if you were to do a lot of high speed work go fully synthetic or change your oil regularly, the later option if you like to do a lot of wading  :D

as said, there's no problem turning up on the day, as long as the form is filled on site and the dues have been paid, the more the merrier :)
100 miles should be fine, just take it steady :)

Ian Rubie will be there before us I believe, as far as I'm aware he is hoping to arrive around 11:30 on Friday

I'll be late on Friday I expect. I want to try to do both nights if possible. I can't wait - I've spent the last month thinking that the mog was unlikely to make it but now I'm more confident. After all there are plenty of trucks around to give me a tow if it comes to it... Isn't that right lads? ;)
