just thought id tell you all ive got wood!
20 mm mdf for my subwoofer. :D

so, the main targets for this were:
for the box to be removable
for the seats to be able to recline all the way back, cause my dads tall and has it right back.
for the subwoofer to be clear of the seats (not touching).
for the sub box to act as a bulkhead.

so first thing i did was cut the holes for the speakers, first i found the centre and made a cross that went right to the edges, then i used the stencil provided to mark out the hole for the sub. after this i measured 70 mm out to mark where the 6x9s were to go, i had to make my own stencil for the 6x9s which was a right pain! >:(
heres a pic of the doodles on the board

then i used a jigsaw to cut the holes out, and after a bit of sanding, and the speakers putting on, it looked like this.

next i made another board to go over this one, so that the sub was "sunk in", this would stop the seats from hitting it, and also provide some protection from elbows, theres a pic further on, unfortunately i didnt get one with it on its own.
then i made the sub box, much like any other sub box really :)
heres some pics, note the board that makes the sub "sunk in"

the rear is going to be removable, so i can remove the 6x9s ;)
next on the list is to line it.
currently saving up for a kenwood head unit http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KENWOOD-D...?pt=UK_Sound_Vision_Other&hash=item3a6dbbf1fc then ill finally be able to wire it all up  ::)
i will also be making it so its one short strap on either side to hold it in, so it looks tidier.
thoughts and opinions welcome as usual
