You could put a turbo on it that would make a big difference

Not sure yet about turboing it. Don't you have to upgrade the fuel pump and injectors if you do that? If we're going to go to that much trouble, it might be worth just changing the engine at some point for the OM352A (unless of course that doesn't come with the upgraded pump and injectors either, i don't know!)
More than happy to be corrected on this, as this is our first Unimog.
