How do?
After looking about for a few years now I ended up finally buying a u900 with the cascade box, front and rear hydraulics and a rear PTO.
There is a lot of rust on the cab ( I am surprised I haven't fell through it yet). Sometimes I wonder if it's to much. Mechanically it seems pretty sound apart from an air leak and the brakes sticking on. First plans are to try and tackle the rust on the cab and put supports in to get the cab off so I can sort it out in a whole. Whilst the cab is off I am going to rub down the chassis and wax oil everything I can and just give it a good overhaul of service parts and cleaning it up.
its going to be used for Arb work so the plan is to get a 10inch ground fed chipper on the back and build a tipping chip box that goes up to the cab, this may change as I am thinking of putting a hiab behind the cab and the chipper on the front for nasty Hawthorne.
Going to try and make this thread picture heavy as I have took a few photos but I can't seem to upload them of my phone at the moment.
There's a few questions I have been meaning to ask;
Where's the best place to get service stuff like oil and brake stuff,
Does anyone have two spare doors because I think they are beoned repair.
The diff lockers wouldn't work, would this be due to the air leak, I was making 4 on the little dial, what is it meant to be?
What's the words of advice with projects like these what mistakes has anyone made? I think my first mistake maybe thinking about leaving the straight through pipe on.
I am useless with computers so there maybe a delay in replays.
Cheers
Joe
